Madison Hoerbelt

mezzo-soprano

Madison Hoerbelt, mezzo soprano, is from Batavia, New York and is currently a student in the voice performance program where she studies voice with Dawn Pierce at Ithaca College.

​

Madison has been in operas in the Ithaca area, starting in La Bohème (Ensemble, 2019) with Opera Ithaca in collaboration with the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra. She has also been seen in productions with Ithaca College Opera, including Dido and Aeneas (Second Witch/Second Shepherdess, 2020) and Die Zauberflöte (Dritte Dame, 2021). This December, Madison will be playing the title role of L’Enfant in L’Enfant et les Sortilèges and will be premiering the role of Rowan in We Wear the Sea Like a Coat, a collaboration between Ithaca College Opera and Opera Ithaca.

Madison is currently a member of Mu Phi Epsilon in the Lambda chapter where she served as Vice President for one year and is a founding member of the Activism Committee within the fraternity. This spring, Madison will perform with the Dorothy Cotton Jubilee Singers at Carnegie Hall with the Fisk Jubilee Singers. In addition, she has also sung in the Women’s Chorale, Madrigal Singers, and Concert Choir at Ithaca College. Additionally, Madison plays a number of instruments and has studied dance for 17 years with Denise Chatt of Batavia.
